Meet our NY charity: Free Arts NYC

posted under New York, Webisodes on May 3rd, 2011

We’re super excited for our HDYD event this Thursday in Union Square, NYC from 12-5pm. And we’re even more excited to introduce everyone to our NYC charity partner, Free Arts NYC, which provides under-served children and families with a unique combination of educational arts and mentoring programs. Keds sat down with Liz Hopfan, the Executive Director of Free Arts NYC to find out more about this amazing cause.

And if you can’t make it to the event this week, you can still get involved. From May 4-5, tweet what inspires you about NYC with the hashtag #kedshdyd and we’ll donate $1 per tweet received to our friends at Free Arts NYC.

If you’re in NYC, we hope to see you Thursday, everyone!

How Do You Do Style? Meet Refinery29

posted under Webisodes on April 6th, 2011

Style is a personal statement. It’s a reflection of who you are. One of the great things about Keds is they can be worn so many ways. And to be honest, we love nothing more than seeing people add their own personal style to complement our shoes. That’s why we were thrilled to sit down with the team at Refinery29 in NYC, one of our favorite style and fashion blogs out there. Not to mention, we got to spend some QT with style maven and editor-in-chief Christene Barberich, where she revealed how she mixes her personal vintage style with Keds. She was nice enough to introduce us to the rest of the team to let us find out how Refinery29 does what they do best: curate the best fashion trends and tidbits from around the globe.

How Do You Do Music? Meet Other Music and DJ Lindsey out of NYC

posted under Webisodes on April 5th, 2011

In anticipation of our New York City tour stop, we headed down to Other Music in NYC to find out how they do what they do — curate some of the best music around. We sat down with Co- founder Josh Madell who started (what we think might just be) the coolest record store in New York and uncovered how and why the very stylish and talented DJ Lindsey shops there. Take a look!

How Do You Do Art? Meet Peggy Noland.

We sat down with Kansas City-based artist and fashion designer, Peggy Noland, to find out how she does what she does. And it turns out she has one of the most inspiring stories we’ve heard in a while, not to mention that she’s super talented, incredibly optimistic, tons of fun… and takes her Keds to a whole other level. Enjoy!
